British Council in partnership with HSBC Kuwait have developed a series of Career Talks supporting the country’s nationalization plan to increase the number of Kuwaiti citizens working in the private sector. These webinars will introduce you to the nature and scope of available employment in the private sector in Kuwait as well as raise your awareness of the skills necessary to perform specific job functions and to increase your knowledge about the different career paths you can start after graduation.

Dr Kate has worked in careers for almost 20 years. She is the Director of The Careers Group, the federation of University of London careers services including University College London, SOAS and King’s College London,  and in 2021 will establish the new Centre of Excellence for Careers and Employability for the University of London. Kate is internationally recognised for her work on surfacing the employability value of the university curriculum, and for designing a model of career learning gain that supports better decision-making, and consults to university careers services around the world.

 Mr Abdulaziz Al Loughani - Chief Executive Officer , Floward   - 17th March 2021 

Abdulaziz is the CEO of Floward, the preferred online flowers destination in the MENA region. He is also the Managing Partner at Faith Capital, a venture capital practice that is focused on the MENA region. Previously, he was the founding Executive Vice Chairman of the Kuwait National Fund for SMEs Development, a USD 7bn independent public institution responsible for developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Kuwait (2013-2017). Prior to this role, he was a co-founder and Managing Partner of Talabat.com until 2010, and has since then been investing in technology startups and has been involved in a number of local and regional entrepreneurial initiatives. Abdulaziz has also previously served as Director at Global Capital Management, the alternative investments arm of Global Investment House “Global”, where he has played a major role in managing key investments within the Private Equity Group of Global by handling various assignments on corporate restructuring, business planning, deal structuring, due diligence and managing portfolio companies to exit. Abdulaziz holds a Bachelor's degree - with a double major in Information Systems and E-Commerce from the University of Toledo, and an MBA degree from London Business School.

Dr Terry’s marketing experience includes fast-moving consumer goods and theatre marketing. He became a full-time academic in 2002. Between 2015 and 2017 as MOOC Programme Director for the Open University’s Faculty of Business and Law he steered the Open University’s innovative ‘MOOCs for credit’ initiative and was Lead Educator on the FutureLearn MOOC Business Fundamentals: Effective Networking which has been studied by thousands of learners around the world. A Senior Fellow of the UK’s Higher Education Academy Terry’s publications include Creative Arts Marketing, now in its third edition from Routledge. He is currently piloting the use of digital badging to credentialise employability development by students within their formal academic study, and finalising a new book on Business Networking due for publication by Routledge in Spring 2022

Ms Al Awadhi joined KIPCO in 2010. She is responsible for coordinating the Group’s overall communications strategy and for KIPCO’s corporate communications, media relations, branding and marketing activities. Ms Al

Awadhi has an extensive career in public relations, media and journalism. She was previously a member of the ‘Newsweek Arabic’ production team and the foreign correspondent at Kuwait News Agency, Kuwait’s official news wire. She holds a BA in English Literature from the University of Bahrain.

Sheikha Fouz Fahad Al-Sabah - Founder and Managing Director at Crowd Creative House and Founder and Editor-in-Chief at Khaleejesque – 27th October 2021

Sheikha Fouz Fahad Al-Sabah is the founder and managing director of Crowd Creative House, a company specializing in creative services and consultancy since 2014. She is also the founder and editor-in-chief of Khaleejesque, an award-winning media brand that explores the Arab Gulf’s creative and cultural scene since 2009. 
Dedicated to creating opportunities for the youth, creatives, and entrepreneurs, she is currently working on developing Kuwait's first creative economy strategy in collaboration with the National Council of Culture, Arts, and Letters and the British Council. In 2019, Fouz won the national Entrepreneurial Award at the British Council’s Alumni Awards and was short-listed as a finalist in the Global Alumni Awards. An active spokesperson and academic, Fouz was invited as a speaker at the Knowledge Summit 2018 in Dubai and the Creative Futures Forum 2019 in Riyadh. She is also a Fellow of the sixth class of the Middle East Leadership Initiative and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. 
She has earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration specializing in finance and marketing from the American University of Kuwait in 2008, as well as a master’s degree in the cultural and creative industries from King’s College London in 2011.

Waleed Al-Rezooqi - Executive Director, Investment Management – 27th October 2021

Waleed joined Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s Middle East client coverage sales team in January of 2018, focusing on institutional client origination for the global platform. Prior to that he was a Director at Natixis covering the Middle East Public sector client coverage from 2016 to 2018 for investment banking and capital markets. His experience includes working at HSBC in the Financial Institutions Group from 2011 to 2016 in Kuwait and Dubai, overseeing the client coverage for Kuwait’s public sector and financial institutions, and subsequently the GCC asset manager coverage portfolio.Waleed started his career in Finance at National Bank of Kuwait as part of the Institutional Banking Division looking after the bank relationships in the US and European geographies.Graduated with honors from Georgia State University’s J Mack Robinson College of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration double major in Finance and Computer Information Systems.

Ahmed Al Jenai – 27th October - Head of Global Trade and Receivable Finance

Ahmed has over 15 years of experience working in international banks and Trade finance.  He joined HSBC Kuwait as the Head of Global Trade and Receivables Finance in 2018.  

Previously he was in Citibank N.A., Kuwait since 2006 and his last role was Trade Head of Citi Kuwait, Citi Qatar, and Citi Bahrain.
