MODELLING CAREER SUCCESS - Advice and guidance to Students in an International Context

The British Council, in partnership with the University of Dubai and sponsored by IELTS, is organizing a two-day symposium designed for counselling and advertising staff in both Government and private schools across the MENA region.

the aim of the symposium is to give counsellors an opportunity to learn from experts in the fields of information, advice and guidance, and from employers, professional bodies and college admissions staff from the Middle East Region and from the UK. this will impact positively on the counselling and support provided to students, ensuring they make the best choices with regard to international education and their future career, and to promote graduate employability

We are delighted to offer you the opportunity to participate in our MENA regional school counsellor symposium in Dubai on 8/9 March 2015. The two-day symposium is aimed at school counsellors from both government and private schools across the MENA region. We expect to attract an audience of between 100 and 150 school counsellors primarily from Saudi Arabia, Oman, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan and Egypt.

The aims of the event are to improve the counselling and support provided to students to ensure they make the best choices with regard to international education and their future career and to help promote graduate employability in the region. To do this by:

  • Providing counsellors with the information/skills they need to support students effectively in choosing courses and applying to international/UK institutions
  • Providing counsellors with skills to counsel and support students effectively
  • Providing counsellors with tools to maximise the opportunities for graduate employability across the region.

The two days will comprise a number of plenary sessions and parallel workshop sessions.

Participation fee is £250 ( 118 KD) + flights and accommodation.
