British Council's Foundation Certificate Course for School Counsellors:

A Formula for Success The British Council is introducing its new School Counsellors Foundation Certificate course.

This course has been developed to provide student counsellors with resources, guidance, and tools needed to build capacity and to meet the needs for working with students. The course also provides an opportunity for professionals within this field to deepen their knowledge about UK education systems and develop expertise in this area. The course includes both online and face-to-face training/workshops.

Professional aims: The course is designed to help School Counsellors:

  • Give counsellors tools and resources for guiding students through the decision-making process - choosing the right course and institution
  • Increase student counsellors’ capacity to provide high quality advice and information to students seeking an international education in the UK
  • Develop student counsellors’ capacity to work effectively with UK education organisations and institutions and maintain up-to-date knowledge about studying in the UK
  • Support counsellors in helping students to prepare and make the most of their international study

  • In addition to the earlier point, success in the exam at the end of the training gives you the British Council Foundation Certificate for Counsellors
