In 2019, British Council hosted Dr Tim Steiner, from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, who led musical workshops for 96 Students and 15 teachers from various schools and musical institutions in the State of Kuwait. These intensive workshops, which took place at the LOYAC Youth Foundation, saw the students compose innovative pieces of art combining different cultures, genres and time periods.
This joint collaboration coincided with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's concert at the Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Cultural Centre on 11-13 April , where they played famous classics and the work of the respected film composer, John Williams . Students also had the amazing opportunity to attend the orchestra’s open rehearsal - and ahead of the main performance, they joined together for an outstanding 20-minute musical performance in the cultural centre’s foyer.
