The Museum management programme is designed to create professional development opportunities for staff working in museums and cultural sectors in Kuwait under the guidance of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letter.
The programme consists of three major stages for achievement of objectives starting at implementation of short-term recommendations to extend to longer-term strategic-based ones.
It is still in its initial stages; in May 2013 a UK consultant visited Kuwait for one week and conducted a needs analysis research. The consultant, under the guidance of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, visited different museums in Kuwait, met with staff working there and held several interviews with advocates and officials in the cultural sector in Kuwait.
The British Council will continue working along with the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters across the different stages of this project to set Kuwait as a model country in museum management and a training hub for museum management among the Gulf Countries.
